Have you ever lost track of time when you were out with friends? Talking the night away in an empty parking lot, discussing whatever came to mind? That is exactly the type of vibe that I want to provide with this corner of the internet.
I have always wanted to create a place for me to share not only my knowledge and experience with others, but also give myself a creative outlet for a wide variety of topics. Which means I want to talk about anything and everything, whatever comes to mind. And I hope you do too!
You may be asking yourself, why call it “The Parking Lot”? My handle online has been vanikin3 for as long as I can remember (the origins for the name is a story for another day). One day, while streaming on twitch, I realized that I could call my community the mini-vans, and a parking lot is a common place for mini-vans (along with other various vehicles) to congregate.
And it ties in perfectly with the vibes of wanting to make a chill place for friends to hang out. I have countless memories of the clock striking 1 am, my friends and I piled into my car and we are all laughing, joking around and talking about life. Plenty of times we have met up early before a concert, waiting in the parking lot before and after the show, discussing music, video games, anything and everything that comes to mind.
If you care to know me personally, my name is Cole. I am a software engineer by day, but a hopeless creative at night. My goal is to one day be able to leave the corporate world behind and give my full attention to my artistic endeavors. From writing stories to creating video games, I am inspired by so many different things that I am constantly itching to make something new, and I find I am at my happiest when I can do just that.
If you found me through my professional endeavors, such as software engineering, I hope that you also find something worthwhile in the lifestyle and music areas. And if the opposite is true and you found me through my rants and ravings about music or life, who knows. You might find something helpful within the professional side. And if there is content you think I am lacking, reach out and lets talk!
No matter how you found me or how long you stay, I am truly grateful for every moment I hold your attention. Thank you for taking a chance on me and my domain.
